Samafit VK II is a two-component chemical damp-proofing system designed to effectively seal rising dampness in masonry structures. By introducing Samafit VK1 and VK2 into pre-drilled holes, the components react within the capillaries of the masonry to form a gel-like substance. This gel transforms hygroscopic capillaries into hydrophobic ones through a process known as silicification, preventing the upward movement of water via capillary action. The result is a permanent barrier against moisture ingress, preserving the integrity of walls and enhancing the longevity of buildings.
