Krystol Broadcast (Dry Shake) Product Feature Description
Krystol Broadcast (Dry Shake) is a surface-applied crystalline waterproofing treatment specifically designed for freshly placed concrete slabs. It is a dry shake product applied during the finishing process, where it penetrates into the concrete surface and reacts with moisture to form millions of insoluble crystals. These crystals fill the capillaries and micro-cracks, creating a permanent waterproof barrier from within. Ideal for slabs exposed to water or chemical attack—such as basements, water tanks, tunnels, and sewage plants—Krystol Broadcast enhances durability, reduces permeability, and increases the life span of concrete structures without affecting appearance or finish.
Key Features & Benefit:
-
✅ Crystalline Waterproofing – Reacts with moisture to seal concrete from within.
-
✅ Dry Shake Application – Easy surface application on fresh concrete.
-
✅ Reduces Permeability – Prevents water ingress and chemical penetration.
-
✅ Permanent Waterproofing Solution – No maintenance or re-application required.
-
✅ Ideal for Exposed Slabs – Use in water tanks, basements, tunnels, and sewage plants.
-
✅ Enhances Durability & Service Life – Strengthens concrete integrity under harsh conditions.
- Replaces unreliable exterior membranes, liners and coatings
- Self-seals hairline cracks up to 0.5 mm (0.2 in.)
- Fugitive dye coloring ensures uniform distribution
- Does not change finished slab appearance
- Protects reinforcing steel against corrosion
- Can be used as a wear surface
- Reaches well below the surface and is not harmed by surface wear or abrasion
- Withstands extreme hydrostatic pressure
- Finished concrete may be painted or covered with any floor finish as usual
- Permanently waterproofs concrete
- Lowers the cost of waterproofing
- Reduces the cost of maintenance and repairs
RECOMMENDED USES
- Slabs on grade or below grade
- Parking structures
- Marine structures
- Reservoirs and water treatment plants
- Basements and pits
- Warehouse and commercial floors
The dry-broadcast method is best suited to very thick concrete slabs that will be power-trowelled during finishing. For typical thickness slabs,
KIM admixture may be more cost effective.
